The NVQ assessor observes real working activities, including receiving a load from an excavator, safely transporting materials around site, operating on gradients and inclines, and tipping loads to designated stockpiles, ensuring safe, competent, and compliant dumper operation in line with workplace standards.
Witness Statement
- Witness testimony provided by a competent supervisor or mentor with direct knowledge of the candidate’s dumper operations. The witness confirms regular observation of the candidate’s work, demonstrating safe and effective use of the Forward Tipping Dumper, full understanding of site procedures, machine operation, and application of work activities carried out as part of normal day-to-day duties.
Professional Discussion
- A professional one-to-one discussion is carried out between the candidate and the assessor, where the candidate explains how they meet the required occupational standards. The discussion covers the work activities undertaken, the methods used to complete tasks, and the reasoning behind safe, efficient working practices carried out in the workplace.

- Knowledge and understanding assessment requires the candidate to demonstrate what they know and how it applies to their job role.
