This route takes 1 day with a maximum of 6 candidates.

You should already be capable of carrying out pre-use checks, controlling the roller safely, manoeuvring accurately and demonstrating appropriate compaction techniques without needing basic operator instruction.

Why Compaction Technique Matters

Operating a road roller isn’t simply a matter of repeatedly driving over the same patch of ground. The operator is trying to achieve consistent compaction across the working area.

In-house certification is evidence of training and assessment but is not the same as an NPORS Operator Card. Acceptance should always be confirmed with the employer, client, principal contractor, site and insurer.

Roller Assessment and Certification

Candidates following the NPORS route complete the required theory and practical assessments.
