This course is primarily aimed at drivers and operators responsible for loading and securing plant machinery for transport.

If your employee already regularly loads, positions and secures plant machinery and can complete the task competently without instruction, the Experienced Worker Test is normally the appropriate route.

Plant Mover certificate required before training
Candidates attending Plant Loader Securer training must already hold a valid Plant Mover operator certificate as proof of training.
This is an important booking requirement.
The Loader Securer course teaches candidates how to load and secure machinery for transport. It does not provide the underlying training needed to move different items of plant.
If your drivers do not currently have the required certification, they can complete our Plant Mover Training Course first.
What does the Plant Loader Securer course cover?
The course focuses on the practical tasks your drivers need when preparing plant machinery for transport, including:
- Preparing the loading and unloading area
- Checking the plant and transporter
- Safe loading and unloading
- Correct machine positioning
- Load weight and distribution
- Load stability
- Using chains and tensioners
- Using straps and other suitable restraints
- Selecting suitable securing points
- Securing excavators, dumpers, rollers and other plant
- Preventing movement during transport
- Preparing the transporter for road travel

In-house Plant Loader Securer certification
Where an NPORS Operator Card is not required, in-house Plant Loader Securer training and certification is also available.
This can be suitable for employers whose drivers operate within their own company arrangements and where workplace-specific certification is accepted.
An in-house certificate provides evidence of training and assessment but is not the same as an NPORS Operator Card. Acceptance depends on the employer, client, site, principal contractor and insurer.
