Get Several Plant Assessments Organised Together
Your excavator operators may also need telehandler, dumper or roller assessments. We can consider these within the same visit where the machinery, working areas and instructor arrangements are suitable.
A mixed assessment day follows the lowest daily limit of the categories included. Once an excavator assessment is part of the booking, the maximum is four tests in total.
That means four assessments—not necessarily four different employees. An operator taking two category tests uses two places.

Your excavator must be suitable and serviceable, with the operator manual and relevant records available. The area must support the necessary travelling, excavation, loading, reinstatement and attachment-changing tasks.
Candidates need the identification and PPE requested in their booking instructions, along with suitable space for theory assessment. They also need time away from normal duties to complete the test.

An Experienced Worker Test is appropriate when an operator can already complete the required tasks independently. Regular digging experience is useful, but the candidate also needs the knowledge and skills for inspections, safe travelling, loading and attachment changes.
If someone needs instruction first, explain this when you enquire. We can discuss the excavator training route rather than place them into a test-only booking before they are ready.

Yes, subject to suitable machines, facilities, instructor coverage and scheduling. If the booking includes an excavator, the daily maximum is four tests altogether. The relevant NVQ and other applicable registration requirements must be met for Blue Competent Operator Card progression.
