Our 3-day novice dumper training course is for complete beginners and candidates who don’t yet have sufficient practical experience to operate independently.
Training starts with machine familiarisation and pre-use inspections before progressing into manoeuvring, loading, travelling with materials, ground conditions, stability and safe tipping.
A maximum of three novice candidates can attend.

Experienced Dumper Operator Test
Already use Forward Tipping Dumpers regularly at work?
Competent operators may be suitable for an Experienced Worker Test (EWT) instead of novice training.
The assessment takes approximately 2–3 hours per candidate, with up to six suitable experienced operators assessed in a day.
The EWT is a test-only route. Candidates should already possess the knowledge and practical ability needed to operate the machine safely without instruction.

Dumper Refresher Training

What Will I Learn on a Dumper Course?
Forward Tipping Dumper training combines theory with practical machine operation. Depending on your experience and training route, the course covers the key skills needed to operate safely and competently.
You will learn how to carry out pre-use checks, identify defects, use the controls safely, manoeuvre the dumper, receive and carry loads, travel on suitable ground, work on gradients, maintain machine stability, tip materials safely, work near excavations and other plant, and park and secure the machine correctly.
The course also covers operator responsibilities, manufacturer instructions, pedestrian awareness, safe loading areas and shutdown procedures.
The aim is to develop an operator who understands how to use the machine safely in real working conditions, not simply someone who knows how to drive it.
Dumper Stability on Rural and Construction Sites
A Forward Tipping Dumper may be compact, but poor ground conditions and incorrect operation can quickly affect its stability.
